Player Spotlight - #9 Owen Wilson
With the summer rolling along, we caught up with last season's Defensive Player of the Year from the Junior Hurricanes, defenceman Owen Wilson, and asked him a few questions.
Name: Owen Wilson
From: Tracadie Cross, PEI
Holland College Program: Business Administration
Position: Defence
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 200 lbs.
Minor Hockey Association: Sherwood Parkdale Minor Hockey Association
Favorite NHL Team: Boston Bruins
Favorite NHL Player: Adam McQuaid
Where did you play last season: Holland College Junior Hurricanes
Greatest hockey achievement: Receiving an award for Top Defensman of the year from the Holland Hurricanes
What can you bring to the 'Canes next season: I play my position well and i'll do whatever it takes to keep the puck out of our net while also not being afraid to carry the puck up the ice and help out offensively.
Goals for this season: Keeping my +/- at a + by keeping the puck out of our own end and playing aggressive hockey
Interests away from the rink: I enjoy listening to music and playing the drums as well as hanging out with friends.
What would you like to do for a career after you finish school: Not completely sure but I might be interested in running my own business.
2010-2011 Stastistics
25 GP, 2 G, 2 A, 4 PTS, 45 PIM (Regular Season) 2 GP, 1 G, 0 A, 1 PTS, 12 PIM (Playoffs)

Become a Corporate Partner!
Thanks to our great corporate partners from the 2010-2011 season, the Junior 'Canes were able to ice their inaugural team. The season was filled with many successes thanks to these supportive partners from around Prince Edward Island.
With the 2011-2012 season approaching, the 'Canes are once again seeking assistance from businesses on PEI that are interested in forming a partnership. Sponsorship allows students from PEI and abroad studying at Holland College the chance to play competitive hockey between the ages of 18 and 21. This season the 'Canes will be visiting several minor hockey practices to assist young hockey players on PEI as part of a community service.
For any interested groups, please contact [email protected] to discuss various options on how you can become a corporate sponsor.
The Junior 'Canes thank all partners for their continued support.
